Creative Name: Brialmont Photography

Real Name: Frank N. Roth

Description of self: I am a retired AF vet who currently works as a data analyst. I married with three grown children. I got into photography in 2016 after I finished grad school and was looking for a hobby to fill all the new found extra time.

What I create: I focus on landscape, nature, and architectural photography. I started taking photos of abandoned houses, and the old wooden barns of Southern Maryland. I am now branching into Mor artistic still life, animals, as well as plants and flowers.

Project Description: Nature’s Beauty. Recent wildlife photos I’ve taken. I have been trying to increase my wild life portfolio.

Medium & why: My medium is digital photography. I enjoy photography because it allows me to look at a subject in a different way and try to capture the story of the object.

Favorite part of the creative process: I never plan what I am going to shoot, rather I find a subject and then try to capture it in a way that highlights its beauty.

The most challenging part of the process: Sometimes being over critical of my work. Often the photos that seem the most popular with my audience are the ones that I did not think were “perfect”

Inspiration for this creation: There is no one inspiration. It really comes down to what my muse is at that the time. I may go out looking for one thing, and in that process be inspired by something totally different.

Other creative influences: I’d like to try creative writing.

How creativity betters my life: For me it is a form of therapy. It relaxes me and allows me to focus my mind on something other than the day to day grind and responsibilities. It allows me to seek and appreciate the beauty all around us.

Advice to other aspiring artists: Take chances. Don’t worry about how others will see or perceive you art. Focus on how you view and perceive it. Develop a relationship with it. Remember your art is part of your essence.
